If you know my wife and I, you will know that we can’t wait to start a beautiful family of our own. Because of this reason I find such delight in spending time with my friends who have started families of their own. Words can’t express how much love I have for Darren and Lindsey and now that they have little baby Tovin, I am so happy that I have another Smitherman to pour some love on! Darren and Lindsey have a beautiful home in Denton, TX with tons of natural light pouring in through the windows and great wall decor that any photographer would love to capture.

I haven’t shot a family session in awhile and I am so happy that Darren and Lindsey trusted me 100% to tell their story. As we begin raising our family and get into our daily routines we can easily forget that there is a story that unfolds everyday. Our hours become days, days become weeks, weeks become months and before you know it a year has passed. As time goes by we change our routines and adjust accordingly, leaving the past behind us. How easy is it to forget how much a child has changed and grown, especially during their first year! I love being able to walk into a home and just hear these daily routines a family goes through and then tell that story through a camera.

Fast forward to 10 years down the road or even 20 years, wouldn’t you love to share with your child how much they enjoyed seeing you the minute they woke up from their nap? How about telling them the story of how they loved to pull books off the shelf and pile them all around and just start reading. Or telling them how much they loved the book “All of Baby Nose to Toes”. As a guy who is looking ahead to the future, I would love to have those memories to share with my own child. I wouldn’t want to ever forget those precious years that can go by in a flash. I want these tiny moments that may seem insignificant to become significant and remembered for my family.
