Meet Edu and Krista, we had their engagement session a few months back and they had just arrived shortly before from Spain where they currently reside. They are both doing mission work in Spain which is how they met, before Krista moved to Spain she did not know any Spanish but since she has lived there she can now speak it fluently. Which makes me a little jealous, ha. This was an interesting session for me because of a language barrier I had with Edu, he only knows Spanish right now and I only know….English. Krista had to be our translator through out the session but it ended up not being a huge challenge for me since I told them just to spend time loving on each other. It was clear to see that Edu did not have a problem understanding how to show love towards Krista, it was very sweet to see him interact with her. The biggest challenge for this shoot was trying not to die from heat exhaustion since this day was during our very long stint of over 100 degree weather! I am sure glad we have passed that season up! Here are my favorite images from the session. Enjoy and vote for your favorites!

29 votesvote as favoriteI have one final thing to share on my days of Etsy exploring that I would like to share with you today. I must admit it has been awhile since I have done searching on Etsy because I know that I could probably find much MUCH more to buy, but I must refrain. This particular day of searching brought me to this wonderful shop named Tactile Books. They create amazing hand crafted journals and boxes with a ton of cloth variety. I wanted to begin offering a nice box to place the proofs in that I have ordered for my clients and this is a perfect addition for my business. I highly recommend you check out this little shop on Etsy if you would like some custom books, journals, or boxes created. Here are some images from 3 box ordered I placed with different color fabrics, two of which were gifts to brides that matched their wedding colors and one brown box for me of course! I also had them blind imprint my logo on the backside of the case which I ended up LOVING! I am very happy with the way these turned out and highly recommend Tactile Books. Enjoy!

23 votesvote as favoriteTime to share another amazing find on the wonderful world of Etsy. After I finished all my new branding it was time to get a new business card designed. I decide to stick with keeping my business cards square because I liked having something that stood out when I handed them out, the only difference was I upgraded to letterpress business cards. These are extremely nice cards and much thicker than my older business cards, I didn’t want to just stuff them anywhere and I wanted to keep them from getting scratched, bent, or marked up. It was not easy trying to find a business card case for square business cards and then to add to it finding square business card cases that could hold the thickness of letterpress cards. Go ahead try and find some online with google, I spent hours trying to find something that could hold my business cards.
I finally found myself on etsy trying to see what was out there and if anyone offered square business card cases. I then stumbled upon the shop of Kerry Hesse named The Wooden Scribe Pen Works, he had a ton of hand carved items made out of wood. He does some pretty amazing stuff and what appealed to me was his wooden business card cases. The only problem was that all I saw in his shop were rectangle business card cases that were very slim. I was going to need something square and much more thick to hold my cards. So I took the chance and sent him a message to describe the type of case that I was going to need for my business and he wrote me back and told me it wouldn’t be a problem at all. In fact, he told me just to begin by searching for exotic woods that I would want to use and he would go ahead and create it for me and only for $25! I thought I had stumbled upon the greatest deal on earth at this point and couldn’t pass this up! So I started to google “exotic woods” and found one that I liked and he went ahead and carved a custom business card case for me.
If you are in a similar situation and have business cards that are non-traditional sizes and looking for a case you should definitely contact Kerry and let him know what you need. He will be more than happy to create on for you! Here are some images of my case for all of you who are curious. Enjoy!
