So now that you have had some time exploring my new home on the web…what do you think? Do you love it as much as I do? So happy to have a place I am proud to call home.
Now it is time to share my first blog post with PICTURES! On my old blog I had a contest that was offering a free engagement session for the couple who had the cutest engagement story, well it just so happened that Jarrod and Lindsay had the best story, you can read Lindsay’s entry here. To sum it up, they were each other’s first kiss all the way back in elementary school!
This session really started my desire to begin telling stories with all the people I work with, and what better story to tell than a couple who have known each other since elementary school! I brought along many props to help us have some fun. I got my hands on some school desks thanks to an old high school friend and facebook, I made my own chalkboards for this session, we brought some notepads and fat pencils to write notes back and forth, I brought along some little hearts to symbolize “first love”, and Lindsay and Jarrod brought along some Crush bottles to represent their “first crush”. They also let me know how much they enjoy dancing so I made sure we incorporated some of that into our session as well. We had plenty of stuff to do and play around with which made this session so much fun to capture.
I invited my friend Brent along from Talia Productions to capture some behind the scenes footage of me in action and what Lindsay and Jarrod thought about their engagement session. If you want to get a glimpse at one of my sessions you should definitely check it out at the end of this post! You can also view the same video in my About The Photographer section of my site.

I can’t believe I have been sitting on this engagement session for so long! I have been so excited to share this session with everyone but I was waiting for the new year and then I had to get a new computer, so it delayed it a little bit more. But now the time has come to share this engagement session I shot with Will and Jayme at White Rock Lake in Dallas. I think I enjoyed this session so much because Jayme and Will were just being themselves and I just had the privilege of bringing my camera along to capture their love. I have known and have been friends with Jayme since my college days and my wonderful wife gets to be the maid of honor in her wedding. I could not be more excited for their wedding in March, and I can’t wait to share Jayme’s awesome bridal session! Here are so of my favorite images from our time together. Enjoy.

I am very excited to share today’s pictures with you for several reasons, one of those reasons was because I had the opportunity to shoot at the W Hotel in Dallas for the first time, and the most important reason was because I got to shoot an engagement session with a life-long friend. Not many people can say they keep up with their friends from elementary school, with facebook so popular now it isn’t hard to find them, but how many have you actually remained friends with? I can proudly say that Vincent and I have been friends since Kindergarten! How crazy is that? I put a little storyboard together ranging from our awesome flat top haircut elementary school days, our middle school soccer days, graduation day in high school, and ending with a picture of us together on my wedding day.

I have known Alexis since high school so it has been so great to just know a couple for so long and then get to hang out and take pictures of them. We have all been excited for this day to come and so glad it finally got here! We first stopped at a park in Richardson so we could get some pictures of them together in the park and include some with their dog. We then made our way to the W hotel for the remainder of the session and it was so much fun to get to walk around and find awesome places to shoot inside! We were also allowed to make our way up to the Wet Deck of the W Hotel and we were able to get some shots of the American Airlines Center in the background. This was semi-important for them because Vincent plays for the Mavericks, or at least that is how I like to phrase it when I tell all my friends, Vincent is on the drumline for the Mavericks home games, so I wasn’t lying to you, he actually plays for the Mavericks! So next time you go to a home game and hear some people banging on some drums you should look over and go say hi. Well enjoy my favorites from this session, make sure you see all 30 of them by clicking the link below .
