If you would like more information on booking a wedding or portrait session with Jared Rey please visit the contact section of the site. I look forward to capturing your story soon.
If you have been following my facebook page you would know that I just launched my own studio magazine this week named SENIORITY. What is SENIORITY magazine all about exactly? It is basically a magazine geared for teenagers to get fun information such as hair & fashion tips and see some great photo inspiration for their future portrait sessions.
I also wanted to throw in the advantages of choosing a professional boutique photographer who can customize the experience based on the person to create long lasting memories that are unique. I not only want my photography to stand out from the crowd but I also want people who hire me have their images stand out from all the rest.
I want this magazine also to be a source of inspiration, encouragement, and promote positive messages for teens that are not centered around lots of the values our society tends to promote. I want to accomplish this by allowing teens to submit stories that can be included in the magazine that talk about success, triumph, hard work, or anything they have done to make a mark in the world. If you are a teen and would like to submit a story or know someone who you can recommend please fill out the contact form above and let me know the details.
This first issue I released was a mini-issue and the summer should be my first full issue release. I am excited about this project and I got lots of ideas and dreams for the future. I truly hope it can be a great source of information for anyone who reads it. Thanks so much for the support and compliments so far. I look forward to the future. If you haven’t had a chance to read the magazine you can click the picture below to be taken to the digital online version!
Also, if you are a hair stylist, make-up artist, florist, clothing boutique and would like to partner up with the magazine I would LOVE to hear from you. We can discuss getting you into an article and/or advertising opportunities!

I have one final thing to share on my days of Etsy exploring that I would like to share with you today. I must admit it has been awhile since I have done searching on Etsy because I know that I could probably find much MUCH more to buy, but I must refrain. This particular day of searching brought me to this wonderful shop named Tactile Books. They create amazing hand crafted journals and boxes with a ton of cloth variety. I wanted to begin offering a nice box to place the proofs in that I have ordered for my clients and this is a perfect addition for my business. I highly recommend you check out this little shop on Etsy if you would like some custom books, journals, or boxes created. Here are some images from 3 box ordered I placed with different color fabrics, two of which were gifts to brides that matched their wedding colors and one brown box for me of course! I also had them blind imprint my logo on the backside of the case which I ended up LOVING! I am very happy with the way these turned out and highly recommend Tactile Books. Enjoy!

I decide to stick with keeping my business cards square because I liked having something that stood out when I handed them out, the only difference was I upgraded to letterpress business cards. These are extremely nice cards and much thicker than my older business cards, I didn’t want to just stuff them anywhere and I wanted to keep them from getting scratched, bent, or marked up. It was not easy trying to find a business card case for square business cards and then to add to it finding square business card cases that could hold the thickness of letterpress cards. Go ahead try and find some online with google, I spent hours trying to find something that could hold my business cards.
I finally found myself on etsy trying to see what was out there and if anyone offered square business card cases. I then stumbled upon the shop of Kerry Hesse named The Wooden Scribe Pen Works, he had a ton of hand carved items made out of wood. He does some pretty amazing stuff and what appealed to me was his wooden business card cases. The only problem was that all I saw in his shop were rectangle business card cases that were very slim. I was going to need something square and much more thick to hold my cards. So I took the chance and sent him a message to describe the type of case that I was going to need for my business and he wrote me back and told me it wouldn’t be a problem at all. In fact, he told me just to begin by searching for exotic woods that I would want to use and he would go ahead and create it for me and only for $25! I thought I had stumbled upon the greatest deal on earth at this point and couldn’t pass this up! So I started to google “exotic woods” and found one that I liked and he went ahead and carved a custom business card case for me.
If you are in a similar situation and have business cards that are non-traditional sizes and looking for a case you should definitely contact Kerry and let him know what you need. He will be more than happy to create on for you! Here are some images of my case for all of you who are curious. Enjoy!
